If you want to save money you shouldn't buy a $380 motherboard my dude.

It will work though, even if the ram is quite slow.

It's not that I want to save money, I just don't want to spend $2083.49 for my computer all at once. I have the money, I could do it, but that would only leave me with a little shy of a grand. My current computer is running first gen Ryen 7. I'm future proofing right now which is why I'm going for the best that I can, but gradually.

Anyways, thank you so much for confirming that it will work. The speed isn't a problem, I'll just buy better ram on my next paycheck or the one after that

You are doing anything but future proving here. At the end of the year AMD will launch their AM5 socket so with buying an AM4 board today you will buy into a dead platform. Ofc you have upgrade paths all the way up to a 5950X but that's it. AM5 will probably have another 3-5 generations of CPU's support, THAT will be future proof.

I would highly suggest that you stay on your machine for now, save up until the end of the year and upgrade then. You will get

1. New Socket

2. New CPUs

3. New Ddr5 memory

4. New GPUs

And maybe more.

Unless your current machine is dying I don't see a point. (especially not in a $380 motherboard, that's pretty much always stupid)
