How to tell if my router is bad?

Idk if this is the right place for this but worth a shot. So my internet is having problems. It is slower than usual all of a sudden and when 2 people or more are playing, it seems to basically shut down for a few seconds very often. Is this a sign of a bad router or are there other things I should try?

Pull the power plug out and leave it for 30 sec before you plug it back in and try again.

You need to provide way more information:

  1. Type of internet connection or ISP
  2. Speeds you're paying for
  3. Makes/models of all network devices
  4. How network is connected
  5. Are your slow speeds being experienced on WiFi, ethernet or both?
  6. Does power-cycling the gateway/router temporarily resolve the problem?
