MY PC config :-

CPU--AMD FX 4200

Motherboard--Gigabyte 78LMT-S2 rev 1.1

GPU--MSI GTX660 TF3/OC

Problem:-

When i connect my vga adapter to the gpu the pc starts, bios pic appears, then raid screen appears and then it stops there for infinity,  where as if i connect the vga adapter to the mobos output and set it in the bios to first intitaliatize the onchip vga and not the pci then pc starts booting (with the GPU still connected to the PC) normally after the raid screen and once in desktop i can even install my nvidia drivers(which dont usually allow u to install drivers if u dont have a card in the system) windows drivers also lists my GPU, also when i ran the GPU in my earlier pc with an intel core 2 duo in it the GPU ran perfectly and also i tried to take the gpu now to my friends hous and it runs perfect there too, it shows the abnormality only in my PC dunno why pls help :DD :(((((

Thanks.

You can have one of these 2:

1. you made a change in the array of drives and now it's going haywire, not recognising and not starting

2. don't plug the card after, leave it plugged in, and if it doesn't work, plug the vga in the mobo, start into safe mode, install the drivers from there.

Have you considered using a digital output? VGA provides inferior image quality.

Have you tried using a hdmi or DVI cable for your 660? The vga adapter could be the problem

as suggested by the other two try a different connector if that doesnt help maybe try another pci slot? i know you said it sees the gou in windows and what not but hell ive seen stranger things happen

I don't have a monitor which supports HDMI or DVI, only have a VGA monitor so cant change the port and also it displays things correctly but just wont let me open the bios or any other raid menus and stuff it would just hang up at the raid menu after which it is supposed to automatically boot into win7 :(

I tried using a HDMI output from my card and it had the same results however if i force from bios to use onchipVGA with GPU installed and turn on the computer, then i am able to use the HDMI output of my card once windows has loaded and even play games and run benchmarks(while doing this the VGA output of mobo stops functioning after the os has loaded if i have hdmi plugged in to gpu), however my prob is still not solved since i need to use vga output and the problems with vga and hdmi are the same which shows there isnt any problem with my gpu not running properly or vga adapter but the mobo itself which halts or refuses to go to boot and rather stays on the screen prior to the boot loader.

Also would flashing my bios with an updated help ?

on it :|

ok well if you know the card works in other systems then we know its probably not the card, what kind of power supply are you running?

Using an HDMI cable didnt work any better than the VGA however if i would force the bios to use the onboardVGA and not the PCI then it would boot up ok and i would get display from my HDMI cable to my T.V once windows has loaded and am able to play games and run benchmarks whilst the vga output of the mobo stops functioning once the hdmi has taken over, but this doesnt solve my problem since i cant any display until the system has booted and also it shows that the problem is not with the vga adapter or the GPU rather the mobo refuses to go to the boot and rather it keeps hanging up in the raid screen which is shown prior to the boot loader(*the screen doesnt freeze or the pc doesnt stop working since i can still see the underscore on the raid menu blinking, rather it purposely doesnt go past the raid screen or didnt go past the boot screen when i didnt have RAID enabled)

It might be time to try a different video card to see what happens.

I've also seen some pretty bizarre stuff happen with bad power supplies...
