Ghosting (not smooth image) on 240hz samsung g7 when watching 60hz content

Ā Hello LTT! i have a problem, please help mešŸ˜Š

When I'm gaming on my 240hz samsung g7, it's amazing, but when i watch content (youtube, movies, videos etc) the image is not smooth, it's uncomfortable to watch, do you know what i can do about it?

Ā

Some info: i haveĀ  msi mechrx6600xt GPU, connected to monitor with displayport 1.4

I enabled Freesync on the monitor menu, so it doesn't let me change refresh rate, (i heard that freesync is good when you have AMD GPU)

Ā

what can i do to fully enjoy this monitor both ways)))

Also i use it in SDR mode, not HDRĀ

To be honest i love this monitor, it's the only one 1440p 240hz and 480ā‚¬ in my region, other ones are 700ā‚¬+, and in one hand you say the monitor needs colibration, i did that (but i did not update firmware yet) and second you say "reset all settings" i am new to gaming pc's and monitors, so idk how it makes sence. And i love VA panels, they do not hurt my eyes (i play in a dark room) thanks for your answer.

The firmware update a bit troublesome as required USB Thumb drive.Ā

Ā

Just copy the firmware to USB drive, insert to the monitor USB port and flash from the monitor menu. Cannot flash from Windows.Ā

Ā

My previous LG monitor wise do can butĀ Samsung monitor cannot understand if you plugin your USB thumb drive at PC even though you already USB extension connect to PC from monitor.

If you refer to low fps content to look stuttery, then that's normal. Response times are pretty fast on the G7, so there is less motion blur (ghosting) to smooth out the image. The only way you could improve that is to lower the overdrive setting, which is only possible if you don't use VRR afaik.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I see, i use AMD GPU for now, and i enabled freesync on the monitor, i also tried with freesync off (again at 240hz) but there was no difference, so you suggest to set the monitor to 60hz for content and then switch to 240hz freesync on for games right?

I need to say that english is my third language so i can't correctly explain what is happening, it's just jumping picture, like when i watch mma, when the fighters move fast, the image is jumping ...
