Well your only upgrade path would be 7700k and thats not That worth it imo., Otherwise that 500 AUD will have to get a b550+5600+32GB 3200 mhz ram. Should be able to get some parts used for cheaper to fit but it will be pretty hard to find that. Since youll need to bios update the MOBO to use it probably

I would recommend new cpu cooler with the cpu & motherboard upgrade. You can use the same RAM. However, you may want to get 32GB of 3600MHz CL16 RAM in the near future, to further improve performance. The 4-core, 4-thread cpu is definitely hurting performance. Your next upgrade should be the gpu & psu btw.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 3.5 GHz 6-Core Processor  ($279.00 @ Umart)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Pure Rock 2 Black CPU Cooler  ($69.00 @ Scorptec)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 GAMING X V2 ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($139.00 @ Amazon Australia)
$487.00

Yeah that should be fine for now. Just upgrade the psu, when you get the new gpu later.

That's fine. Just go 3200MHz. It's still very much faster than the 2133MHz that you had, and it's cheaper too.
