WiFi is misbehaving

I have 2 routers which I've daisy chained.

The 1st is a Huawei modem and router by my ISP and the other is a TP-link router I  bought myself.

I have the TP-link in Access Point mode and have it cover the house where the Huawei can't reach.

Initially I did notice that sometimes there would be some cut outs but these were very infrequent and only lasted about a few seconds. This wasnt noticable on my laptop and wasn't much of an issue on my phone.

Recently, however things have gotten really bad.

Now the cut outs last for minutes on end and I can even notice it on my laptop as well.

What can I do to fix this?

I have fiddled a bit with the router settings and now how to change some of them. But I'm not all to familiar with changing DNS settings and stuff like that so I might need some guidance.

Your help and advice is much appreciated. 🙂
