Windows wont update

Windows wont update, which is causing me to start crashing.

open cmd as admin and run

sfc /scannow

and then run this

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

then give it the ol' reboot, and try again.

 

EDIT: please tell me that's an LTS windows edition.

Use the Windows update assistant. I find it to be way more reliable when things like that happen.

nothing happened when I restarted

I've tried using it but keep crashing near the end of the installation.
