Some keyboards have issues working in the BIOS,

So you will need a different keyboard that doesn't have such issues or try finding workarounds.

Quote
  1. Use the main USB port or the USB port on the top left of the motherboard.
  2. In the BIOS, enable USB legacy support.
  3. Disable the fast boot feature. Using a suitable keyboard that should function in BIOS, according to the manufacturer

Are you tapping Del or F2 after switching on?

One suggestion is -

How can I enter BIOS if F2 key is not working?

Make sure the system is off, and not in Hibernate or Sleep mode.
Press the power button and hold it down for three seconds and release it. The power button menu should display. …
Press F2 to enter BIOS Setup.

Try hammering delete, or F10.

is your keyboard wireless or wired?

So you're plugging in the keyboard AFTER POST? Starting a machine with no keyboard connected will result in an error and plugging it in after POST won't necessarily give functionality, or even clear the error code.
