Yeah this is kinda a meme thread. With a budget of only $150, what is the best pc that you could put together that is capable of play Direct X 11 titles in 2022?

With some effort? 5900x and 6700 xt.

Do note: This says $315, but it was actually $315 CAD earned while building this.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.聽

how many of the components am I allowed to steal...

but really, with a budget of $150 USD you should definitely hit up electronics recycling places in your area and scavenge systems for free from there, then buy anything you need to improve gaming performance.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black聽(with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux聽- Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explained,聽group reg is bad

Yup. Dumpster dive for an optiplex with like an i5 6400 or something then upgrade PSU/GPU. Even then, that's still going to be closer to $500聽

Anything core-i should be fast enough to roll with upper end maxwell or polaris card.聽 Upper end maxwell or polaris cards should be back in the neighborhood of $100 very shortly, and people who didn't know how to do enable fTPM when windows 11 told them their working PC wasn't compatible with windows 11 might be selling OEM systems on craigslist for for $40ish dollars.聽 You can get a 120GB SSD to pair with an existing HDD for about $15, and a basic thermaltake smart 550w PSU from best buy or microcenter can often be had for like $35.

$150 is an iceberg because of the SSD and PSU (you could forego those things but the experience in windows getting to your games would be miserable, and you'd be gambling on whether or not you had a usable 8-pin), but $180 could very realistically get you an i5 4570 with an RX 480 or GTX 970 with a little bit of diligence in the right market.聽 That will be more than capable of 1080p 60fps in big games, and older games will go even faster, which for the majority of gamers is plenty.

I edit the shit out of my posts.聽 Refresh before you respond.
