980 is fairly old, the one you get from used market probably already beat up.

for your budget i suggest Radeon 6600xt for the cpu and Intel 12400 or AMD 5600 for the cpu.

that cant be possibly fit into that budget.

for second hand you have to look at your local market, a rx570 or 580 should be like 100-150$ which is a decent budget card. for cpu i would also suggest going amd. if you buy something like 5600 you will have room to upgrade your gpu later on. or you could get something like 2600 with 70$ 2nd handed

So I'm looking for a good budget pc if it were me i wouldve tried to find some kind of gtx 980 but im just wondering what people think could be better for context my budget is £140 to £150 for the gpu overall my budget is £300- £350 im also wondering what cpu to get idk whether to go with an amd or intel please give me some suggestions

350 for the whole pc?

thats going to be difficult

gpu 90 (570)

cpu 100 (2600, maybe)

mobo 60

psu 60

ram 50 (16gb?)

case 30

450...

and thats really provided u can find half decent stuff at roughly those prices... i cant really give you exact recs either because there are just way too many possible parts...

you could maybe built something like that with a decent amd igpu, but even that could exceed 350 easily, but it should be possible  - the roughly 100 for a half decent dgpu is dragging you down... sure u could get maybe cheaper ram (8gb) etc, but man, its gonna be a pretty poor experience... maybe if you could find a 5yo used pc or something might be better (if u do post specs before buying)

Beat up from age is not a thing with computer chips unless they sustain physical damage in some kind of event.  Electromigration can happen but its unlikely.  People still have GT 8800s, HD 6570s athlons x2,s pentiums 4s, and even some 486s that still turn on and operate at their rated speeds.  Hell, there are blade processors at work that ran at almost 80GHz 24/7 and are over a decade old that still run exactly the same as they day they were new.  Some of the older subsystems have been in operation since the 90s...

I edit the shit out of my posts.  Refresh before you respond.
