It finally happened

So I have been testing it for last 24 hours and yeah it 100% works. LHR can now be completely bypassed. on all cards except 3050 and 3080 "12g" which use v3. and its not like before where you could feel the card resisting it , power spikes or lengthy calibration time etc .. it just works perfectly fine like a non-lhr ! on both windows and linux

 

though I cant stop thinking that nvidia had something to do with it. how perfectly (...or broken) it works and the timing with eth merge and card sales and prices , coincidence ? what you think , am i too cynical ?

Keep in mind that people with an interest on mining have been working on it since it existed, with varying degrees of success. There was also the hack on nvidia and maybe something from that was helpful? I don't think nvidia themselves are directly involved. If you're a big enough miner you could approach them for the mining specific cards. 

 

Hadn't thought of it having versions, but not surprising. Presuming that v1 was the one that had the development driver without it implemented that got out? v2 presumably was the fix to that. Didn't know it would be changed again since.

hmm idk, maybe youre right. it was bound to happen sooner or later.

Doesn't work on my 3080 lhr which is very annoying. In fact it reduces its speed yet displaying the 100% unlock. Was only getting 52mhs whereas I was getting in the 70 mhs. Tried reinstalling the RC but just made no difference. Went back to old 70% unlock version and its back up to where it used to be so suspect the 10gb version won't always work either. Maybe in the next release
