Laptop is starting to die, need help picking out new parts.

Go to solution Solved by Queen Chrysalis,

Bam done.  23,000 for everything you need.  If you think a 6600xt isn't fast enough you can upgrade to a 6700xt for about 5,000CZK more, but the parts list I posted will be optimal.

I chose the 12400 over the 12400F as the iGPU is leveraged by some creative software, you can save about 500CZK if you don't think you need it.

But TBH, what model is that PSU?  If you have the budget for it a new one might not be a bad idea.

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: Intel Core i5-12400 2.5 GHz 6-Core Processor  (5299.00Kč @ Alza)

Memory: Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory  (1599.00Kč @ Alza)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon RX 6600 XT 8 GB NITRO+ Video Card  (12790.00Kč @ Alza)

Budget (including currency): 30.000CZK

Country: Czech Republic

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rocket League, any new AAA titles, photo editing, casual school work

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): No peripherals are needed since I already have all set up, resolution 1080p@144Hz, going to buy when the laptop dies completely.

So as the title says, my laptop is starting to die after almost 4 years of full tilt service. I borrowed a desktop PC from my friend because he is going away for a long time so I got a 5600G with an R9 270 on loan right now. All I need is a good bang for the buck mobo, RAM, CPU, GPU combo since I already have a Seasonic power supply (500W), case and storage (both SSD and HDD).

It's hard to say as I don't know anything about availability in Czech. Im assuming you are saying 30 thousand czk and not 30. Im talking new, the used market is something that you need to explore yourself. Also use this more as a guideline. Im just pointing you in the right direction as that's all I can do with my limited information.

I would say ryzen 3 3100/3300x or ryzen 5 3600/3600x. That's four CPU's ranging from good enough to get you by to where bang for the buck ends. Check your availability, price range, and benchmarks.

Whatever the cheapest b550 motherboard you can find will work perfectly fine. If you can spend a little (I find like, $20cad at most can be the difference between reputable brand and not) to get brand with a better reputation and customer service. To me this is worth it. But to each their own.

For ram, I would recommend 16gb, and the numbers you need to look out for are 3200mhz and cl16. 3200mhz cl18 I would avoid, and 3600mhz cl18 is the same as 3200mhz cl16. You can just swap between the two of those generally. Dw about 3600mhz cl16, not really worth it, just try your hand at overclocking. Again, cheapest, or a little bit more than the cheapest.

For the GPU, honestly see if you can find a used rx580 for cheap. A cheap 6500xt is good enough to get by but not much more. 6600, 6600xt, 3060, 3060ti Is a decent range to be in.

Just keep the 500w limit in mind, and if the psu is old (Like getting close to 10years) consider replacing it.

Hope this is of some assistance.

The PSU is a brand new Seasonic Core GM 500 Gold, bought on the last day of the year.

In that case, it should be fine.  I would stick with the 6600xt instead of the 6700xt then.
