$300 Maximum Price Range - New Speakers. -Basshead-

eQuilibrium

As you can read from the Title, i'm after a set of speakers, 2.1 preferred, i'm sick of my 5.1's too many damn speakers and i don't have the set-up for them to work effectively.

I'm on a desk with little-to-no room for speakers, but that doesn't matter i'll improvise for good speakers, just not 5.1.

Throw me some Quality Suggestions, yes i'm a basshead, but if the quality is really good, with only mild bass, i'll definitely take a liking to it, i'm all for sound quality too, just $300 won't do both.

Keynote - I'm From Australia, so before you post a recommendation, please make sure it's available here, without $9605968 overseas postage costs.

Cheers guys.

I'm not even going to address the comment above me...

Check how much klipsch promedia 2.1 is. Those are around $150 in the US.

Are these what you're talking about?

This will also give you a nice overview on how Fu*ked Australian Pricing is.

If you could stretch your price range another ~$60 this would be definitely be worth the extra money

It really depends on how bass-heavy that sub is, are you recommending from personal experience?

The aesthetic doesn't really match with my desk either, needs to be a really dark brown or a black. but if they're that good.. I may.. Thanks !

Well it is from Swan and I trust all swan products to be good, I also own the D1080-IV that lyons recommended Which I rate higher than the A5+ which is double the price. If I had to choose between these two based on only the bass-heaviness it would be the M50W because it has a sub. The D1080-iv is capable of getting heavier bass if EQ'd correctly but it is still not the same as having a sub.

I'm currently using the D1080-iv with the Audioengine S8 and sounds really good.

It's not earth shaking, but it's certainly very good. The 5" woofers do a great job, and I think you'll come to appreciate a more balanced sound once you hear really good speakers anyway - most people do. They're definitely the best value speakers available.
