I currentyl have 2 500GB HDDs which are both almost full. I have just bought a 128GB SSD and a 2TB HDD to replace them. I want to do a completely fresh install of my Windows 7 on the new SSD using the same product key. Is this possible or do I need to de-activate my current Windows 7.

I'm not transferring anything, it's going to be completely fresh as I have had constant lock ups with the occassional BSOD and I can't figure out why. So I'm starting fresh to hopefully rule out any conflicting drivers or faulty sectors on my old HDDs.

This will be my first fresh install so any help is appreciated on where to start and what not to do.

Thanks.

Well, from my experience you don't have to do anything bur reinstall and re-enter the code when asked to. Since you are going to format the HDD there will be no issues with your Win7. No matter what you OEM Box or whatever you've got says. I have done it a lot.

I reinstalled my Windows 7 when I got my SSD and using the same product key worked just fine, you should have nothing to worry about.
