Hello,

I have a new build and I’m experiencing an issue with power to the system. Once I turn on the power supply (switching off to on). The motherboard’s RGB turns on to a color cycle and the aio’s screen turns on as well. The rest of the system however doesn’t have any power. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Does the motherboard have a bios that supports the 5600X?

Hello, yes i recall reading that the compatibility might be an issue with the motherboard and CPU so I downloaded the latest bios update and performed an update with the bios tool on the motherboard. I attempted to boot and I get the same result. Thank you for your insight on this.

Press the power button on the case.

Unfortunately that didn’t power on the PC. (No Fans, and no post)

Ok then first thing to check is making sure that your power button is correctly connected to the motherboard. The jumpers are tiny and for me in my past builds have always proven to be difficult to get on to the exact pin.

After that we start following the sources of power. The motherboard powers on so the 24 pin connector is likely ok. So we move on to the 4 pin (or 8 pin) CPU power cable making sure its present and seated both on the motherboard and plugged into the right port on the PSU.

That should get us to a point where the rig will turn on if its a power or on button issue.

I just pushed the case power button and I believe I have the correct slots on the motherboard.

hmm ok check if power button is connected correctly,  the others arent important,  as in it should still turn on.

Just to double check and I’ll consult the manual as well, you’re referencing the pins on the bottom right?

Reseat the 24 pin motherboard power connector. It is not seated well. Look at the picture at the 4 pin break-away section. Looks like it's pulled up and kicked over a little. (it should be under the little tabs there. see the gap?)

Thank you, checking the cables on the power supply.

Now perhaps try a different PSU.

Prefer one that has 2 modular separate 8 pin cables for the Video card.

Aw I have another PSU but it’s below the recommended wattage for this build. It’s a 500W. I was using the 850W as part of my last build as well. I just moved it over.
