I've been having low fps and gpu utilization in a lot of new games I've been playing and I don't know how to fix it. If the game was made in the last year or 2 my gpu utilization doesn't go above 50% most of the time. I've tried everything that i can to fix this issue but nothing seems to work. I've increased fan speed to see if my gpu was just over heating. I've tried turning all of the settings down to the lowest possible settings with no change. I'm at the point of just getting a new graphics card that's better then a 3070 because this one cant even run a lego game of all things. If any one has a fix to this please help.

Which resolution?

Latest bios? Latest chipset drivers from AMD and the GPU drivers from Nvidia?

Just got the latest drivers for everything and still no fix. 20%cpu utilization and 50% gpu utilization

it also depends on the game and settings… you kinda described your problem (without saying if there is an actual problem, "low fps" could mean anything really) but more importantly you didnt give enough info.

CPU usage … this is meaningless if you dont know usage *per core* for example …

Otherwise, for some games this is normal, cpu and gpu wont run 100% if it isnt needed, and thats a good thing!

Some wildly different examples of "usage" and neither is really an issue (at all)

Tomb Raider Anniversary

cpu "usage" 12%

gpu "usage" 57%

FPS 595… what exactly is the problem, why do i need more?

Fatal Frame 5

cpu 15%

gpu 36%

rock solid 60FPS, it never drops a beat, no issue?? (the fans dont even run > bonus points!)

… So can you explain your issue a little  more, besides usage, is anything wrong? what games?

what does "low fps" mean?

have you tried DDU?

power supply? (dont see one)

actual game settings? vsync, gsync, etc?

btw, im not implying theres no issue  - im just saying the info given here is insufficient imho

Low fps means that i have 300+fps in the lego starwars menus and 20fps in game. It isn't consistently 20, it dips down to 20 on certain planets and areas. Sometimes it will start at 20 and other times it will continuously go down as I load more things. if it is continuously goes down it will start at 60fps.

I have not tried DDU yet

Power supply is a corsair 750 watt fully modular

Game settings are full screen 3440x1440 144hz full screen, no v sync, shadow quality low, anti aliasing none, ambient occlusion low, space reflect none,

hmm, ok 20 fps *is* low obviously.

Psu is likely not the issue then.

Try DDU in safe mode (read the description in the program , its written well) thats your best bet for now .
