Hi guys, this is my update to current gen but also future proof build. I am currently running a ryzen 1600, gtx 1070ti with 16gb of 2400MHz RAM so I am beginning to feel the lack of power and speed in games. Recently updated my monitor to a 1440p @ 144Hz, and I'm basically never seeing that 144Hz being put to use. As I've said, I'm into competitive games so I care about FPS, but I also like my mil sims and VR, so finding a balance between these and future proofing has been at the forefront of my thoughts.

I've specced out this build with the new 12th gen intel with the intention of going for a windows 11 build OS wise. I'll be dual booting a linux distro, but I have a spare SSD for that anyway. I've picked a middle of the pack mobo and an AIO cooler, but know my knowledge of these components is very minimal. I've gone for a 3070ti with 32gb of 3600MHz RAM and what I thought looked like an efficent power supply. Case is actually one of the things I'm unsure about currently, I would like something both asthetically pleasing but also good cooling wise so any reccomendations for favourites would be great. Do you think I will need extra case fans for this?

I might end up using my old build as a home server also, but that might be a thread for a later date.

Cheers :)

The PSU is sfx. It will require an adaptor plate to mount in the ATX case.

The case does not have great airflow, you might consider a case with much better ventilation.

I don't believe the AIO lighting integrates with iCUE.
