Asus Prime X570-P extremely loud chipset fan (in idle after boot), slows down during and after load

The chipset fan on my board behaves strange. Often, when I boot the system, it starts driving me nuts (I guess max rpm).

But when I put some load on the system, it gets quiet and stays quiet.

There was a nice period of it not doing that, now it does it (again) on every boot.

I thought bios versions affect it, but seems they don't.

Any ideas?

How long does it do this after boot?

 

It's not uncommon for fans to start at max speed and remain there until POST finishes, as it's better for the fan to kick-start it by starting at top speed. This was more common in older systems, but if Asus was having issues with the fan not starting in some systems if started at low speed, they could have done this as a fix in later BIOS versions.

Does it for hours, as long as I let it, even when the PC enters sleep.

Earlier it sometimes slowed down after some time, but the last few days it doesn't.

Also, no tools can control it, not even LibreHardwareMonitor, Asus Ai suite, the BIOS, ...

Driving me nuts, to the point I'm considering returning to the B450 Tomahawk Max or buying a different board. I don't think this would pass an RMA, they wouldn't call it an issue.

 

I think it might be the GPU covering the fan, that it struggles for air, but it shouldn't be...

Yesterday I updated Ryzen Master, Now, it's silent on clean boot and on reboot. :S

But I don't use Ryzen Master, just have it instralled. Sometimes I open it to verify my other tools report the correct temperatures. 

 

Albeit, it might not be Ryzen Master related, might just be a conincedence.
