game on SSD or HDD?

So I am planning to build a new computer, but I have a problem choosing between HDD or SSD to store my game in, I do have a 1tb Samsung 980 pro nvme ssd as my main boot drive. But I kind of confused about whether storing my game in hdd will slow down the loading time or not.

put the game you played the most in SSD (be sure the used capacity should no be over 70% for solid state drive) and the game you didn't play much on HDD

i prefer to put games on SSD nowadays, and bought a dedicated drive

reason is loading times, yea

 

it depends on what kind of build you're doing though, if it's a low end build i think the money is better spent elsewhere, but if it's mid-range then i think games on SSD is a decent idea

Even older games such as GTAV struggle on an HDD, driving at over 100MPH you end up having texture pop-ins and dealing with 2+minute wait times. Just for QOL I recommend tossing an SSD in there. I only recommend HDD for backup and document storage nowadays and even then the price per GB of solid state storage is dropping like a rock, in a couple of years I'll cut that recommendation right off and even recommend them for NAS

With how cheap solid state storage has gotten I choose to keep my games on an SSD. The dramatically improved loading times make it worth it for me.

Loading time between HDD and SSD is VERY VERY different, don't underestimate it.

If you don't want to invest in a second SSD, then as said, put the games you play most on SSD and less played games on HDD, you can even move them back and forth easily with Steam.

I would have suggested spending less on that boot drive and then ditching that HDD altogether. I have an NVMe boot SSD but then a large SATA SSD for everything else. HDD's are just miserable all around these days.
