Is the Apple Studio Display worth it? (vs. U2723QE)

I have a decision to make that has troubled me for weeks. My Mac Studio is supposed to come next week, and I still haven't made a decision on which monitor to get with it.

 

The Dell U2723QE seems a good option. But in online reviews, I see that not a single one gets the specified contrast ratio in tests. And there seems to be quite some problems with light bleeding.

 

The Apple Display on the other hand also doesn't get the best of reviews. But those are focussed on the features it does or doesn't have; I for example don't care at all about the lack of HDR support. Not a single one mentions quality issues.

 

I can afford both, but is the Apple Display really worth the 1000 euro's more?

Personally I would NEVER buy the Apple studio.

 

- especially with that Super short Non-removable Power-cable.

- The extreme high price for the screen/resolution [PPI] ratio

- Reports of terrible webcam quality.

-{USB display pass-trough, does not always work}

Thank you for the response. But for as far as I know, there aren't any other monitors that have this high of a PPI ratio at 27 inch, except the crazy 8K Dell. (?)

 

I use my camera body for video calls, so I don't care if there even is a webcam; the best webcams still suck. 

 

Comparing static specs unfortunately doesn't help. From what I have read, not a single Dell example had reached the specified contrast ratio, for example; but I suspect the Apple display will get closer to the promised specs. 

 

I am kinda hoping someone has experience with the Studio Display.

I haven't seen it in person, but the Studio Display is twice the price because it's 5K instead of 4K and it's made by Apple.

 

I have used a 5K iMac and have 4 LG 4K 27" monitors, the difference in PPI at this size isn't very noticeable. The Dell is 98% DCI-P3 while I think Apple is 100%? Maybe that's important. If not, I'd get the Dell.
