Looking for help with screen problem

Recently some vertical dotted lines that are just single pixels wide started appearing on my screen, one every couple weeks. It doesn't appear on an external monitor the large grey block is just the scroll bar

The screen might be going bad, the screen driver board, the cables connecting the screen to the PC, or the video card in the PC itself. To test if it's the screen or the video card, connect the screen to another computer to see if the lines also appear. If they do, you know it's the screen. If not, further investigation is required.
