RGB hub needed?

Go to solution Solved by Rainbrew,

Ok I think I understand now, RGB stuff is a massive mess and there are no good solutions because interoperability of RGB stuff between manufacturers is terrible (beyond using SignalRGB). I'll be getting some sort of splitter hub and calling it a day, multi channel controllers are available but they don't affect the lighting of motherboards or other components which aren't plugged into them directly so you run two separate softwares anyways. Who knew LEDs were so difficult?

Hey, I'm moving my PC from a be quiet! 500dx to a Torrent Compact with the two big-ass argb fans. I also plan on adding a 120mm exhaust fan to the rear (also argb) and at this point I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a hub. My TUF x570 pro wifi has 1argb and 2 regular RGB headers so I'm missing a single port. What RGB hub do you guys recommend?

I'm into the idea of having control fine control over the lighting of every fan so I assume I can't just use a splitter because I won't be able to address them individually (and from what I understand RGB headers only let you choose single colors). The case includes a fan hub so I'm not necessarily interested in a combo hub, and I'm a bit confused as to what the differences between various hubs are.

The Corsair commander pro is pretty expensive especially compared to offerings from NZXT (which include a fan hub) or Silverstone. If I understand correctly hubs either feature software level control or remotes for the lighting. I plan on getting an ASUS GPU to stick to the ecosystem as I heard working with multiple controller softwares is a massive pain.

Any recommendations greatly appreciated, I'm moving from a no-RGB PC build to rgb out the butt (plus Torrent case is hot af) so I'm a bit lost in this space. Thanks in advance!

So I did some more research and from what I understand these hubs basically aggregate all of the individual RGB things and connect them to your PC as a single RGB element.

As far as I can tell the only company that really offers multi channel RGB control is Corsair with their hubs. iCue is compatible with Asus products so I wouldn't mind going with them, however it seems that the commander pro is only compatible with Corsair fans. Are there any alternatives to this? I'd like to be able to control everything in a single program so I don't have 3 different RGB programs running in the background.
