what's the virtual display usb c thingy called and what adapters do it?

SamH12604

right so I have a laptop with a usb c port on either side (cant really remember but I think they're just usb c 3.1), the one on the left does charging and data, the one on the right does data and display port over usb c. You know how you can get USB 3 to hdmi, can I get one of those as USB C so that I can plug them both in one side and have both charging and display with one cable. I looked on amazon but all the different usb specs and names and shit makes it so confusing I can't tell if any of them do this, it's only for school work I don't do gaming and is for a 1080p external monitor so doesn't have to be perfect.

Hoping that makes sense and I'm not being completely dumb

Normally yes, but if your laptop really only supports charging on one of the ports and DP on the other then no, you'd need 2 cables.

They're pretty rubbish, but would be fine if it's just for displaying the desktop/simple work apps.
