Are you going to stream LOTS / render lots of videos and record?  If not you may be able to get a 770 and a 4670 but other than that it looks decent. (you can still stream/ video edit perfectly fine with a 4670)

How much are 280x in AUS?

Unless you are doing lots of video editing or streaming a lot you don't need the 4770. I suggest you get a 4670 instead and try and get a GTX 770 or a R9 280X instead of the GTX 760.

My Current Build:

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

What's the system being used for?

1. Budget & Location

Around AUD$1500. But lenient.

2. Aim

Occasionally some CAD work but mostly for gaming (modern games),

3. Monitors

A single 1080p monitor for gaming and maybe a second one to have on the side, for convenience.

4. Peripherals

I need to buy a monitor or 2.  I also have a G105 keyboard, G9x mouse (MW3 bundle) and Tritton Pro+ headsets as well as a windows 7 key.

5. Why are you upgrading?

I'm just in need of a brand new computer as I am using a old laptop so yea...

Thank you for your interest!

Oh you'd be more than fine with a 4670k then, and you could get a better graphics card then.

Something like this:

What kind of CAD?

Modeling for Engineering Uni and fully rendered animations are very different things.

Do you think a 760 4gb is better than the 280X?

No. The 280x is neck and neck with the 770.
