Does anyone know what is causing this?

This is an IPS panel 1080p 144hz. I dont know the model number.

The laptop has sat on the same stand for the last year.

It has not taken any hard collisions and the hinge is used rarely.

I'm assuming I will need a new display.

Does the same issue occur in the BIOS or the start-up screen before loading into the OS?

Yes, I just double check. the same pixilation occurs when in the bios. the only time it doesn't show up is on a white screen.
