LG 38UC99 monitor on life support. takes forever to turn on. Anyway to save it?

kaylexmorgana

What i did by a quick google search is that the capacitors are dying. I have no soldering kit to solder new ones on.

Problem is It now takes forever to to turn on. While it is off i cannot open the menu and the idle flashing light that happens when the monitors are off does NOT happen. Over the past like 2 months or so it has slowly gotten longer to turn on. Now it way worse.

it is at like 40 minutes ATM and still has not turned on...

Warranty is gone since i bought this like 5 years ago.

If you can't do it yourself, take it to a tv repair shop or have someone who has the tools and knows how to do it so it. Once it dies completely (if you continue using it like this), then the repair won't be a couple bucks.

Yes that's the sign of bad board. I suggest send it to monitor repair before it completely dead.

Worse case the board dies, you have to replace the board or get a universal lcd board, unfortunately only for regular resolution (not ultrawide).

I've done this and saved my monitor and it still good up till now.

What? Yes I always get LG monitors. I had to send like 2 of them back. 1 wasn't working and other had a dead pixel though. But I'll buy LG next time when I have the money
