It's probably coil whine. It's pretty common on GPUs and to a lesser extent motherboards and power supplies. It usually comes and goes depending on the load on the inductors, so higher frame rates or moving the camera around in 3D software will usually cause it to occur. Even then, it's not that consistent, since I've seen cards whine like crazy in some benchmarks, yet in ones with similar frame rates it'll be completely silent. 

 

It is completely harmless, it's just annoying. Don't worry about it.
