Same Radiator Fans?

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

Yeah I have been using this config for a while but I was just wondering if it will affect either fan's lifespan as they have probably different static pressures.

Unless the static pressure can rip a hole through some sheets of cardboard, probably not.

On my Zalman LQ310, it came with a PWM fan and I attached a Cougar Turbine (3pin) on it also to do a push pull configuration. I was just wondering if it is required to use the same fans (I have another Cougar Turbine lying around) or does it not matter?

Zalman Fan:

Speed 900 - 2,000rpm ± 10%

Bearing Long life bearing
Control Method PWM Control, Auto Restart
Connector 4Pin
PWM Duty Cycle 30 - 100 ± 5%

Cougar Turbine:

Speed
1200
Air flow @ 12V (CFM, m3/h)
60.4 / 102.6
Air pressure @ 12V (mm H2O)
1.73
Noise
17.7dB

I'm pretty sure fans are standardized in some way, so you should be fine.

I don't think it should be a big deal.

But keep in mind I have a thug of a Noctua sitting on my shelf that so far has a kill count of 3 CM fans.

I doubt you'll have any problems, just putting that out there.

Yeah I have been using this config for a while but I was just wondering if it will affect either fan's lifespan as they have probably different static pressures.
