So I finally finished building my computer.

Case: Lian-li 011 Dynamic Evo (Snow White)

Cooler: Lian-li Galahad AIO 360 with UNI

             fans (white)

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900x

GPU: Evga 3080 FTW3

MB: Asus Crosshair VIII Hero ROG 570

RAM: 32gb 3600mhz CL 16 G.Skill Trident Z

PSU: Maingear Ignition 1000w

Storage: 1tb Samsung 980 M.2

               4tb seagate barracuda hhd

I wanted to check the thermals to make sure the thermal paste (stock paste with cooler) was applied good.

I ran cinebench23 on multi core with Precision boost over on in Ryzen Master. The temperature reached 86c, and the EDC was maxed at 100%. I just wanted to make sure this was normal for the temperatures to jump so high and the EDC to be maxed out. My temperature during idle is 32c and without PBO on cinebench23 it goes up to 62c.

it someone could let me know if everything seems fine or if they think I should upgrade the thermal paste to a better brand and reapply it. It would be greatly appreciate!

thanks

The real question is what are your frequencies going up to. With Ryzen, load temperatures aren't really that important, and it just matters what frequencies you're hitting since PBO will dynamically adjust the frequency and voltage to keep the CPU at ~75-85C under load. In Cinebench you should be hitting something like 4.4GHz to 4.5GHz (that's where my 5900X lands in Cinebench with a custom water loop). If you're hitting frequencies around there, it's normal. If not, temps aer a little high.

I've got a pretty samey config, and indeed with PBO on temps spike up quickly to 85C

I was able to reduce that a bit with use of CO, undervolt -15 all cores (-20 may work too), now it's up only to 82C in CB23, but I've also added +100MHz OC, and higher PPT 220W/ EDC 220A/ TDC 140A

CB23 caps EDC first, with PPT at 200W, don't think I can go much higher without hellish temps... I have around 4550MHz all cores, score 22.3K, and in gaming max core speed hit 5GHz sometime but are usually around 4.8GHz

Alright then everything should be good then. The frequencies I was getting with PBO were between 4.5GHz to 4.6GHz.

I will have to give this a try to see if I can bring the temps down a little also without losing the frequency speeds. My frequency speeds were good between 4.5 to 4.6GHz. Just wasn’t sure about the temperatures jumping that high. Haha this is my first high end build. So my other computer the temps tended to be a lot lower.

Yeah me neither i had a 3900X and he kept pretty cool not above 75C.. Thing with the 5900X is that it spikes very fast very high as it has much more max clock
