Bottleneck?

I'm aware the bottleneck calculators are somewhat useless so I thought I'd try my luck here. I'm running rtx 3070 with i9 9900k, 48gb ram. and am still only pushing around 200fps ish in most games, valorant, overwatch, apex etc. Any ideas?

what are your settings in those games? also i think the 9900k should perform much better than that. is there loads of stuff running in the background or something?

What settings? A 9900K should perform good and shouldn't perform s 3070 unless you run 1080p.

 

A simple way to check for bottlenecks is to install afterburner and enable overlay for GPU usage and each CPU core. >95% usage means that part is the bottleneck.

What’s your RAM situation? 48GB is not exactly standard. 2x8 and 2x16? They are set up in dual channel mode (every other slot is a 8 or a 16)?

 

What resolution..?

 

Do you know what any of your temps are?

Task manager. Check on there at how things are running during a heavy gaming session w game loaded.

Hi Everyone have been away so haven't seen the responses. Thank you to everyone responding. My Ram situation is currently alternating sticks, 2 of 8gb and 2 of 16gb. I will be removing the 2 of 8gb though as im planning on running 4 of 16. the temps I havent checked fully as im currently running open case and have also bought new cooling that I need to install. The games settings I run tend to be either Low or medium. prefer fps over quality. everything running in 1080p though. as for background applications the only thing I tend to have open is discord.
