plex server

building a plex server so I have got the parts i3 10105 16gb 12tb going to use linux but my question is should I put plex it a docker container or not
is 12tb enough ?

What os are you using? Have you used docker before? Do you have other docker containers?

 

Storage really depends on your media, how big is your library currently?

I use it on windows, and it's really not that bad, despite what people may say. Unless you wanna run it using low end hardware, windows is fine for it using your main rig with an extra drive.

12tb should last you a while then.

 

Id be tempted to use something like unraid or truenas as a nas OS here.

 

Id probably keep it simple without docker for now and see how it goes

Exactly, the specs for your server are plenty enough to run windows on if you don't want to deal with Linux. If you were running on a

mini-pc with a Celeron, I would say definitely Linux. Your system is more than capable of handling the "overhead" for windows operation.
