Wireless IEM suggestions

starry

Currently in the market for some wireless IEMs.

Requirements (in order from most to least important):

Active noise canceling

Doesnt have weird beeping sounds or text to speech voices telling me battery is low or bluetooth has paired, i dont want to hear a peep from them. (this stuff being configurable to off is also acceptable)

At least 8 hour battery with noise canceling on

Decent sound quality; for reference I am most accustomed to ATH M40x headphones, and Linsoul TIN T2 iems.

Budget: less than $500

replaceable battery

Its okay if its large or unweildy it just cant have a wire going between them because i eat wires for breakfast

I know my requirements are lofty but Im willing to shell out, let me know of any suggestions. Thank you!

There is literally one brand that has this. PQ Earbuds

Otherwise I'd recommend either the Airpods Pro or the Sony WF1000XM4. They are both phenomenal and are always under 300
The XM4s usually get me 9 hours continuous ANC playback and up to 14 just ANC. APP has much lower duration

Two Questions:

Do you have any experience with PQ earbuds and if so does the sound quality match something like the Linsoul TIN T2 for casual music playback?

Do either the PQ earbudes or the sony ones have beeps or computer voice telling me stuff like low battery or bluetooth paired? If so they are a very tough sell for me.

Nope. And they aren't ANC, but they are the only ones that have replaceable batteries

Sony allows you to turn off most of them, but not all. Connected and Low Battery are the only required ones aside from Pairing. But I don't think you are gonna have much luck finding ones that don't ever make noise. Honestly, giving a user the option to make them completely silent is a bad idea from the standpoint of a company because it removes the ability of the device to communicate important info to a user.

And damn, yeah, there is also a beep when you use the touchpad on the sonys to toggle playback. I really think that you are hunting for a product that doesn't exist

lol 🙂
It's not the audio engineers you have to convince, it's the UI/UX people. They are gonna kick you out of the room trying to build a product that gives zero feedback to the user. You *have* to let them know that the things they are doing are having an effect.

Small vibration motor that gives the user a very small and unintrusive buzz when battery is low or when bluetooth connects, similar to how game controllers typically give feedback to the user?

Yeah that’s a unicorn that might not exist…. I will try to look further.

only idea I have is headphones moded.

A pair of headphones with removable cable than a wireless mic system like rode wireless go. But that’s not earbuds.
