Hello!

I'm in the market for a new monitor. 1080p, 1440 hurts for me. Does G-sync do anything but combat screen tearing? How likely am I to encoutner that on a 3060? Thx!

I have a 3060 and I just enable VSYNC globally, through the NVIDIA Control Panel. No G-Sync needed here.

Am I still to create the perfect system?! ~ Clu

it's not really that big a deal. I've run G Sync monitors for years, and I've had a glitch in the Nvidia driver where G-Sync gets disabled once in a while. Didn't even notice it was disabled for like 3 months. If you have it, might as well enable it, but just getting a high refresh rate panel is enough and if it significantly increases the price it's not really worth it.

That said, even some of the cheapest monitors today are G Sync compatible/Freesync, so you might as well get one with it.

As long as there is VRR, i wouldn't care too much about if it's G-Sync, FreeSync or something else.

Since i started using G-Sync years ago screen tearing was a fixed issue for me. Never saw it ever since.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
