So I have a 5400rpm drive on my laptop
when i launch a game it goes to 100% disk usage and makes my game choppy like 1fps evn though the counter shows 165

will upgrading to a SSD resolve 100% disk usage?

Yes if it's choppy from constantly loading assets from disk.

It highly depends. Can you list your specs and the game in which it is causing 1fps. For me it was crappy performance with disk usage at mostly 100% in my laptop with 4Gb Ram and a Hard disk. Gaming performance was very underwhelming. It couldn't run CSGO. I upgraded ram to 12 Gb and now it is working great. However there are a few games where the same issue like yours happens. Battlebit Remastered is always 1fps and WWE 2k17 runs maybe 5 minutes at 30 fps then goes to 1. All this time i have noticed that the iGPU usage drops to 0 when apps get into 1 Fps mode. I will be creating a thread soon so figure out the problem. Till then tell us more about the specs and games.

and which games are having choppy performance? and how is multitasking?

Almost every game except roblox and some light weight games (I can play with extreme graphics in these games)

valorant should run with no issues but idk what is causing stutters

multitasking is great if the disk usage isn’t high

No, I haven't tried CS:GO but most of the games like fortnite, valorant, rocket league, and etc lags

You can try running GPU-Z and then the game you are trying to run in windowed mode. Check the GPU utilization when the game lags. IF it is not 100% then there is either thermal or software issue.

I'd say there's a 90% chance it's vRAM causing the excessive use.

How to increase the Vram in my laptop
I found out that thats the problem
Its set at 128mb
I have to increase
But HP Bios does nothing...its useless
How else can I increase VRAM
HELPP PLSSS(Iris Xe)
