BIOS update

I have a Ryzen 7 5700G paired with a ASRock b550M phantom gaming 4 ax but when I boot my PC, the CPU error light turns on. I think the culprit may be the BIOS, but I don’t know how to update the BIOS for my current motherboard. Is there any way to fix this without buying a new motherboard/cpu?

you need a flash drive, they actually have a decent how-to with pics on the asrock page: https://www.asrock.com/support/BIOSIG.asp?cat=BIOS11

just make sure to go the to page for your exact mobo, and download the latest bios file, and follow the instructions. pretty easy for this board.

That motherboard doesn't have BIOS flashback, so you'll have to get an old CPU in order to update the BIOS. If you bought the 5700G new, you can go through AMD's loaner CPU program, and if not you'll have to bring it to a repair shop and have them do it.

Or, as I instruct some people to do when the above fails, buy a cheap 3000 series chip to do the update and return it.
