What gen of 2230 SSD does Surface 8 Pro have? And a way to clone it for transfer?

Looking to upgrade the Surface 8 Pro ssd and looked everywhere but info seems mixed whether it has gen 3 NVMe or gen 4 NVMe. Does anyone know which generation it is that way I can find a compatible gen. I know gen 4 (if it is) is backwards compatible but I rather place something as close to original as I can with out shelling out that microsoft money.

Also follow up, what would be a good way to clone the old surface system drive and files to the new drive since I have lots of specific configurations for work and studies that I rather not got through hell and configure again. Anyone know of a good reputable adapter which will allow the cloning? Possibly a thunderbolt 4 into a m.2 pcie adapter.

Thanks
