SSD and Cooling!

Con_Verse

Hey all, thank you for reading but I am installing elden ring on my SSD, it is an m.2 the one which is inside the motherboard lol, this is my first time installing a game on here since I normally use my SSD for the OS and important files, but do I need cooling? I am under the impression I don't my case is well ventilated and the SSD appears to have some sort of passive heat spreader thingy, no cooling, hopefully it will be okay. Any advice would be appreciated!

OK, have you checked the SSD temps under extended load?

But with current info it seems to be fine without a cooler...

No I'm sorry I don't know how to check the SSD temps, but before I used to play monopoly plus on my SSD and that game was somewhat "demanding" yet my computer seemed to be fine

Oh that's great to hear! I am currently re-installing the game on my SSD so it seems to be reading and writing a lot obviously, I installed HWID and my SSD temperature currently is 35degrees celcius, whilst reading and writing and I assume it won't go too high when gaming, thank you 😄

Crystaldiskinfo shows the temperatures for one.

But yeah, most likely nothing to to worry, since it's not high end PCIe 4.0 SSD

There is almost no need to check SSD (or HDD for that matter) temps if nothing is really wrong or slow.

SSD's are made to be run, they can handle a game easily.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!
