Harddrive vibration?

ArcticApe

Ive heard a bit about hard drive vibration and it being bad for the harddrive, which makes sense. I got a coolermaster master box 320L that I wanted to put two ironwolf's in. Would vibration be an issue here or is it really just for cases holding 10-20 drives or so?

Its more an issue for a computer that would be mounted in something that vibrates like a vehicle

or noise from it when you have several hundred disks in a server room..  but there are usually things that makes more noise than the disks in a server room.

check that it's mounted with rubber plugs between disk and steel. you shouldn't hear a thing.

no issues, the big issue for vibration from drives is for large racks of full of drives all doing the same thing at the same time

The issue is more with 'outside causes' of vibrations, i.e. a washing machine touching the desk or moving the computer around.

Drives meant for a NAS or server generally have a rating for how many drives they can be in the same case (enclosure) with.

For example, Ironwolf drives are marketed for enclosures up to 8 drives, while Ironwolf Pro drives however are rated for up to 24 drives in a single enclosure.

I see. The case has some kind of flimsy harddrive mounts, its just two "sticks" that you place on the side and then slide into a cage. No screws or nothing. Would this be an issue when it comes to vibration since it isnt super-duper tight mounted? I'll only be using two drives
