So I was planning to make a new build to replace my old pc with a 4160 and 750ti lol and my budget was around 1000-1200$. The RX6600 was an obvious choice since it's a really good card especially for the price of 450$ at micro center. Tho when I was getting things in cart I wondered how much is the 3060 and to my surprise it was somehow 500$ and I could afford that. Man remember the days when it was 1k? Though when I looked for online reviews it was the most confusing thing ever; 3060 wins in some benchmarks and 6600 wins in others. I really don't know. The things ill mainly be doing is playing games, video editing, and maybe even blender, but mainly still games and editing. So which one should I buy?

Depends on your video editor and what you expect of Blender. If you use Adobe products to edit, go 3060 all the way, Adobe stuff absolutely hates AMD GPUs and the extra $50 is worth it for the less frequent headaches that come from Adobe software. If you use Davinci resolve, it doesn't matter, either one will work.

Blender will do so much better with the 3060 though. It's got 4 extra gigs of VRAM so you can do much larger renders without resorting to CPU compute, and the AMD blender accelerator is a hot pile of garbage compared to the one from Nvidia. If you do much more than basic stuff with Blender, get the 3060, it's a far better blender compute card than the 6600.

In games, either one is fine. Look at the games you play, see which one wins the most frequently, and see decide if the 3060 is worth the extra $50 to you.

dont get a amd gpu i got one the other day and apparently amd stores shader cache differently then nvidia cards so somegames might not even run at all for me fortnite at max settings would run at 15 fps

while siege at the same would run at 160 save your self the time the money and the pain
