EaseUS Todo backup destroyed Windows 11

steelo

Hi guys,

Last night I set up a system image backup of Win 11 and went to bed thinking I'd wake up to a working pc. When I woke up, I was greeted with a BSOD. I tried the Windows repair tool, resetting Windows and even the EaseUS boot USB drive I created to no avail. Eventually, I just decided to install Windows 10 (I really didn't feel like jumping through hoops for the win 11 workaround) using the media creation tool...it's frustrating, to say the least when an application that is supposed to help you in this type of situation is actually the cause. I spent the majority of the day reinstalling applications and getting everything as close as possible to what it was.

My guess is EaseUS is possibly corrupting the original copies of critical windows system files while performing the backup...or I'm just an idiot!

I am not sure what I did wrong in this case, but I will not be using this software again.
