Have tried many solutions like clean reinstalling drives, reinstalling windows, installing new bios, even sent GPU back to manufacturer for repair, but somehow every single game freezes up suddenly. Contacted NVIDIA and MSI support, but it did not help. What am I supposed to do now?

GPU: RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X MSI
CPU: 5900X
MOBO: X570 AORUS PRO WIFI

What PSU and RAM do you have?

Does the game/OS have any error messages?

Does event viewer-> system logs show anything critical or error messages around the time?

Check a monitoring tool like HWmonitor or the like to see what temperatures and usage is like across CPU, RAM, GPU, VRAM and your drive to see if any component is acting up.

Lets us know what you find

RM1000x
Trident z neo 32gb (16x2) 3600mhz cl16
It has happened in every game I've tried, so I stopped testing them
It stops responding in Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes, Halo Infinite, and in Rainbow Six Siege
Sometimes it also happens while no game is running, which is strange
Event viewer says a display driver stopped responding and successfully recover, but the game still was frozen.
I didn't use HWmonitor, but I can see that temperatures don't seem to be the issue. The AIO is brand new and the GPU gets cold air directly.

I just happened to see your response because you did not press the reply button.

But the graphics driver stopped responding is a big red flag.
Since your PSU is plenty big enough assuming that isn't the issue.

Try downloading DDU, boot into safe mode and run it. It wipes out all GPU drivers just to be safe. Even if you reset windows.

Then grab a new GPU driver.

Also I would still download HWmonitor as this error commonly happens when the GPU gets too hot. It may not be about airflow but if say the VRAM is too hot because maybe they didn't put gap pads properly on it or something.

I would also double check that the PSU cables are all snug on both ends

I've done clean reinstalls of drivers before, but I can try again. I'll download HWmonitor and check it out too. I had actually heard complaints about temperatures on this specific card before, but I sent it back to MSI, so I would have assumed it would have been fixed. I'll also check the PSU cables and come back with results.

HWmonitor results: The games crashed so early on that the temperature didn't really get a chance to increase. The VRAM got to 70 degrees, but the fans were still at their zero RPM mode, so I doubt it was really temperatures.
The reinstallation did not help either.
I made sure all cables were fully plugged in, but nothing changed.

Ok humor me here, are you able to undo the zero-RPM mode?

See if that helps at all

I used MSI afterburner to set a set fan speed to 50% because I couldn't get a custom curve to work.
Still froze. Maximum temperature was about 64 on the hotspot.

Are you still here?

Sorry I don't have much more to try.

Do you have a low end GPU or a friends you could borrow?

If that works might be worth and RMA

I actually tested an old graphics card. It seemed to have the same problem, and I've RMA'd the 3080 once. I'll just try to talk with Nvidia.
