hey im curious what other people think i have a hyper 212 evo cooler with my i9 11900k do you think its worth it for me to upgade to a liquid aio or some beefier cooler i never see the temps too high but im usually not aware of it well playing but i have noticed that the cpu never boost clocks to what its supposed to and i was wondering if you guys think this might be fixed by getting a better cooler btw i have it paired with an rtx 3070 ti and an 850w gold psu

Considering you can easily carry it over to new build, honestly why not? Just make sure your AIO/tower cooler have solid customer service in your country, and have a good case with good airflow to accomodate one. Noctua has a good long term service for their customer with commitment to provide you with new and free mounting brackets for 10 years since your purchase.

What kind of clocks are you getting from the cpu as is?

It may be worth it for noise alone, if the hyper 212 is ramping up to full speed and causing a nuisance...

Or considering a fan upgrade for the 212 since the fans are standard 120mm.

The upgrade from the 212 Evo to the black edition for me was all noise reduction, same cooling performance. Mostly just cause of the fan.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Couldn't you simply get a quieter fan?

Yes that's what I'm suggesting. Keeping the 212 Evo and just getting something like a nice Noctua fan could yield some good results.

For the sake of a few hundred MHz, I honestly wouldn't bother. It's likely more hassle than it's worth.

You very likely wouldn't notice the difference.

The advice by other members to upgrade your cpu fan is good. That may get you some more boost, depending on what fan you choose.

The single core turbo speed is selfomr hit when gaming, cause games will be using at least a couple cores to do their thing. So running like 6 cores at 4900 is not bad at all.

I'd say keep it simple and stick with the current setup.
