Best SSD

Between those two, MX500 all the way. First, it's a DRAM-less drive vs. a drive with a DRAM cache, it helps so much in making the drive feel snappy and have better IOPS (what actually matters for most workloads, not raw bandwidth). Second, Crucial is a much more respected manufacturer than TeamGroup, so the RMA department will likely be better. If my experience in the past with TeamGroup stuff is an indication, you don't really want a TeamGroup product to fail.

Unless the T-Force drive is significantly cheaper (I'm talking less than half the price for the same capacity so you can buy two and run them in RAID 1), go for the MX500. That said, it's probably worth looking at other drives in this price bracket. Good M.2 drives usually aren't much more expensive, and something like the Crucial P5 could usually be had for ~$10 more if not the same price.

That is not correct. In fact, its just the opposite. Drives with DRAMs are not also faster but also have Wear Leveling, which improves drives lifespan significantly. If it was like you said, none of the best performing ssds would have drams.

That's what I was trying to say. The MX500 has a DRAM cache and the T-Force drive does not, so the MX500 would perform much better. Probably could have phrased it better.

Both answers are interesting, at the end of the day, I changed my mind about them both, and I got myself a 870 Evo and NVME 980 both 1tb.

That's not true, all recent drives have wear leveling.

DRAM-based drives have the advantage of higher performance post-SLC (direct-to-TLC), higher endurance (that's because it lowers write amplification) and they tends to have higher performance in 4K (4096 byte).
