PC Specs :-

CPU - AMD - FX4100

GPU - MSI GTX 660ti

PSU - Cooler Master Thunder 600W

RAM - CORSAIR 2GB(x2)

I am facing some strange issues when running games like THIEF and COD Ghosts.

The GPU usage would keep falling to 0% and then again go back to 99% and the framerate would also dip to 0 FPS and again rise to 60-70 FPS depending on the game, thus making the games unplayable, however in case of THIEF after idling the game for around 5 mins the GPU usage would stop fluctuating, and maintaining a steady 65-70 fps and in case of COD Ghosts it maintains a steady FPS(and GPU Usage at 99%) when I am alt-tabbed and I can hear the game sounds in the background would no longer stutter.I face the same problem in Battlefield 4 but couldn't find any scenario where it seems fixed, its stuttering all the way through....

However in some games like Batman Arkham Origins would run beautifully with no issues.

The bits where you see noticeably less spikes was when I was alt-tabbed....

@akashbanerjeeab It could be that your gpu gets too hot and therefore stops every now and then to prevent overheating. My XFX R9 280X already does that at 80 degrees and I see your gpu is running at around 90 degrees (max of 99?!) which is really hot. Try running your games with the fan speed manually set to 100% (yes it is loud and annoying) to see if you get lower temps and whether that fixes the problem. If it is the problem you should do something about the cooling/airflow in your case.

I use it partially as a Hackintosh. Don't judge me.

maby it becaurse thief and battlefield 4 are basicly amd optimized games and batman an nividea optimized game

He said Thief and Ghosts *facepalm*

I can see that it is getting up to 95 degrees, so that's half the reason but I'm unsure as to why the fps drop to 0. Try uninstalling and re-installing the drivers, it might fix the freezing but you need to turn down the settings as 95 degrees isn't good.

I tried changing the settings to application controlled(wherever applicable), and turning up fan speed to max manually, games run smoother now with much less freezes TY :)

So yeah, the temperatures were definitely the problem. What's the cooling in your case like?

I solved my cooling issues , now even though my temps would never go above 70 the freezing issue still persists its just so weird.......

That's really weird. What about your CPU usage while gaming? Is it hitting 100%? In that case it could be bottlenecking your GPU.

660Ti is far too fast for a stock 4100 hell i had bottlenecks with a GTX 480 and Phenom II 955 at 4.0ghz which is a faster chip.

I would look into the FX 6300 or if a new platform the haswell i3 4xxx.

I tried looking into my CPU usage and its erratic too, the highest peaks are at around 75% and they dip to around 40%....quite similarly to my GPU's graph....

That processor isn't great at all. It's a major bottleneck and is definitely what is causing your issues.
