New build

[FmPhenom]

Decided it was time to upgrade. New parts consist of 5900x, Asus tuf b550 plus wifi2, 32gig corsair ram, TT case and aio and a lian li anti sag bracket. 

Old parts getting moved over:

3080ti (well its a month old now)

3x noctua fans

2tb nvme

4tb sammy ssd, 512 sammy ssd ,480 sandisk

 

Ikea Asus desk

 

 

I hate the hole in this case. Ive seen people put fans or a rad in there. Didnt want it to sound like a typhoon.

 

 

Balsa wood and black BBQ grill paint to the rescue. Wife made me the decal and figured i might as well use the case badges.

To answer some questions.

Went with a 5900x instead of a 5950x because of price. This is a gaming rig. Im not a streamer or content creator. The 5900x seems to hold its own against the 5950x AND intel12900k, Speaking of which.

Didnt go intels latest and greatest because

A: ddr5 is to god dang high

B: ddr4 boards were hard to get

C: Blu ray and older games compatabilty issues. 

 

 

This build made me do 2 things I swore I would never do

Buy a desk from ikea

Go argb

Bad angle, They are about a inch above and zip tied behind the panel.

Dope build man!  Simple, effective, powerful.  I like the bulsa wood with the emblems and decal on it, definitely a nice touch.  I'd agree you have enough fans in there.  Hopefully not too many, but it looks like it should be fine.  I'm no aerodynamacist.  I just remember learning sometimes less is more for airflow when it comes to fans.

 

Sorry you had to go argb.  You should be able to disable it/tone it down with software if you dislike it that much.

 

I gotta ask, why the 3 ssds? One dedicated for boot, or just didn't want to get rid of old ones?  The massive two drives and then dwaft drives by comparison just threw me off haha.

2 tb for os and the oddball disc based game.

 

4tb is for steam and origen games.

 

One is for rockstar  games and photos

 

The other is for GOG games.

Huh, is there a benefit to separating them like that, or just a personal preference on organization?

4tb is almost full. 

 

The other  2 have some games but the one with COD BA  CW has a increased pagefile. For whatever reason I have to manually set it or I dont get character models at all. Floating guns and see thru walls look cool tho

Games do be like that.  Adds up quicker than you'd think.
