Hello LTT, I rushed into my first build being very excited about my first build and realized now that I got terrible CPU and RAM. So i'm going to just replace my motherboard, CPU, and RAM all together. If someone could give me a suggestion,i'd greatly appreciate it. Now for the CPU, I don't know whether to go Intel or AMD, I mostly am just browsing the web, but I do some gaming. I don't want top of the line, but I want like mid range to maybe a little better than in the middle. I want to stay under $1000 though.

Replace the motherboard and CPU with an i5 4440 + H81 board, or i5 4670K + H81/Z87 board if you can afford it.

Would go with an i5-4670K with a nice all in one liquid cooler and a Z87 board so you can oc it. I would keep the RAM you currently have, I don't see what's wrong with that.

My personal rig: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/139780-zalman-my-first-build/

I use it partially as a Hackintosh. Don't judge me.

like what others have said @IAmAFutureMarine i suggest getting an i5 4670k and a z87 board (recommend the maximus vi hero or asus sabertooth z87). ram is good enough for light gaming and web browsing. With the suggested CPU and Motherboard you'll still be way under your $1000 limit.

Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Hero CPU: Intel i7 4770k (running at 4.4ghz @1.3v, though not stable/validated) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 (w/ CM Blademaster 3 fan setup) RAMCorsair Vengeance Pro 2x8gb (XMP 2133 CL11 @1.5v) GPU: Asus GTX 770 DirectCUii (OC 1250/8000, pass UnigineHeaven and Furmark) HDD: Samsung 840 120gb (OS and important programs), Seagate Barracuda 1TB (games and downloads), 2x WD Caviar Green 1TB (1 for movies/videos and 1 for music/pictures) PSU: Corsair AX760 Case: Cooler Master Storm Trooper

OC the 1866 ram to 2133 cl10 if you feel like it. Won't be much faster in games though. Might be a better ram deal out there. Ram prices suck atm.
