So essentially, the reason why I am posting this is for troubleshooting is related to my graphics card. Frequently, when I am playing games, my computer will randomly just turn off with no warning and then automatically restart. I believe that my GPU has a problem and I do not know how to solve this problem, but I have an idea until I can either fix it myself, get someone else to fix it, or buy a new GPU. Basically, my idea is that maybe I can turn my PC on its side and have it run, and maybe that would solve the problem. I figured I would ask, in case anyone though this was a bad idea.

1. Is the PC new? or not
2. Does the problem starts just recently or from the very first time you receive the pc.
3. You mentioned thinking to turn your PC on it's side, which side?
4. What made you have inclination that turning it to it's side might solve the problem ?

1. I built the PC in January 2021, with parts I got from sites like Amazon. I'll put a spec list, just in case it helps https://pcpartpicker.com/user/AyyItsPancake/saved/MjsykL

2. The problem started about a few weeks ago after transport, and I never had any issues with it before, but something happened to the motherboard in transport and I had to replace it.

3. The side with the motherboard facing up, as if I were working on it. I figured maybe this would reduce any side to side motion for the graphics card, because potentially it could be from movement from the graphics card ramping up while playing games I believed (could be flawed in my logic, though)

4. I think it could be moving a little bit in the motherboard slot for the GPU and making something worse. However, the part that doesn't make sense is that it does it randomly (I have had it happen 20 minutes from boot, and I have had it happen 8 hours into boot, and everything in between. And then I don't touch it at all, and it would reboot and be completely fine. So I don't really know what is going on.

Spec list always a welcome sight, make it a habbit to list it when asking for help with PC problem.

Have you rechecked that everything is plugged in nicely? cables, ram sticks, unplugging and replugging the GPU.

Yep: When we replaced the motherboard, we made sure everything was plugged in properly.

Also I unprivated the list, didn't realize it still was private. Also it was January 2020, not 2021.

Thank you.

Replaced the motherboard?

You mean reinstalling everything into the case ?
Or changing the motherboard with a new one ?

but yeah, you can try putting it on it's side if you want. Just make sure everything on the other side is safe, cables not being pinched etc etc.
At the very least for testing purpose.

The motherboard was making a weird noise than sounded like a fan that was hitting something, but it definitely was not because I checked that a bunch of times. I replaced the motherboard with one of the same model and the noise stopped.

Hi @AyyItsPancake

Well, first of all its hard to give you advice/suggest something without knowing your PC specification. CPU, GPU, mobo, ram, e.t.c.

I was dealing with sudden black screens. My GPU-3080 gigabyte aorus master 10gb LHR, rev3.0.

Done all possible and even impossible things changes.

At the end do you know what worked out for me?

Some dude writes it here (https://www.reddit.com/r/razer/comments/l3v2f0/psa_i_finally_found_a_fix_for_the_hidcompliant/)   - but the problem was in Win10 sound driver.

Anyway - at the end Clean install of Win10, update your sound driver from MoBo web page, but only driver, (do not install app what comes with it, if app comes).

Most important - you MUST use headphones/speakers with audiojack -3.5mm, the same goes for mic.

No USB headphones, mic allowed. Overwise it will not work out.

Kind regard,

Okutida

MoBo - Asus rog strix x570-e

CPU - AMD 5600x,

GPU - Gigabyte 3080 Gaming OC, 12GB, 384-bus

RAM Kingston Hyperx 2400Mhz(2x16Gb),

PSU 1000w Seasonic Prime 80+ gold.
