GPU Hotspot Reading High Temp!

Go to solution Solved by Sleepycat3,

Yeah the difference between the GPU and GPU hotspot tends to be about 12-15 ºC in the best case for a 3080. The really stuffed up ones because wrong thickness thermal pads were used for the memory tend to be 20-25 ºC.

Yours has a difference of 14ºC, that's fine, nothing is wrong with it.

What?! My Asus ROG Strix Z590-F just updated it's Device Kit via Armoury Crate yesterday. I just noticed today when I was customizing my AIDA64 Extreme profile, that I can now monitor my MSI RTX3080 Z Trio's GPU hotspot readings. But when I tried playing some games I was suprised that the GPU Hotspot reads way too hot temps than the actual GPU itself! This is my first time seeing this GPU hotspot reading. Is this normal? Or should I be worried? But I actually do not know how to bring that GPU hotspot temp down. And where is that spot exactly?

74c seems normal to me. Also consider not using armoury crate as it dosen't work very well. Have tested on X470 and Z390 and on both boards it does its magic and screw up drivers and add weird latency to the PC.

74°C hotspot is pretty cool.

What matters most to detect an issue is the difference between main GPU temp and hotspot temp, but the former isn't in your screenshot.

It was actually there. It's just not labeled. The green box is the GPU Temp and the red box is the hotspot temp. Thanks!

Realistic temp data details. That gave me some peace of mind. Thank you so much!
