My eyes lately have been killing me after about 30-60mins in front of my monitor while I’m gaming. Have been thinking about getting some gaming glasses but wanted to see what all the fuss is about them and whether they are actually any good. Any advice or links are greatly appreciated thank you 🙂

That most likely means your monitor has PWM flicker. I have prescription glasses and changes in glass does not mitigate effects of PWM flicker.

Also check brightness, set to low, but yes get your eye sight checked. I use prescription glasses with a blue light filter built-in. Works great! Can sit in front of pc for days.

Agree with the above.  90% chance it's the monitor.  10% chance it's your eyeballs.  Of course, eyestrain could be made worse if you're playing jittery FPS's with a lot of screen movement.  Some people get headaches from tearing.  Some from motion blur.  Sometimes it's even a low refresh-rate on the monitor.  But the overwhelming chance is that it's just a crappy monitor and quite possibly PWM.

Of course, if you are already straining to see/use a monitor because of baseline vision problems--then you should be using glasses.  I have pronounced myopia (5.5 / 5.75) and I'm fine all day long if I'm wearing my glasses.  But if your vision is accurate (20/20 or thereabouts)--and you don't have astigmatism or other problems...then glasses are most likely not going to help.
