PC Shutoff, Now No Image

Go to solution Solved by John Reactor,

I`m assuming PSU still provides power? Fans are spinning?

Try removing dedicated GPU and see if motherboard posts.

Do something similar with the memory. Leave one module in the slot and try to boot.

Try reseting BIOS settings.

I was playing a game and my pc shut off. This has been happening with no issues before, just restarted. Now I don't have any image, I plugged my Display port cable into the motherboard outlet, tried an HDMI cable also.

Is it the psu? Motherbord? The rgb on the ram is lit, cooling pump is working. Not sure what to try.

Rog Strix Z390 E Gaming motherboard

Asus VG248 Monitor

i7 8700k @5ghz

GTX 2080 Ti

Corsair 16gig Ram @3200hz

Corsair HX 750w PSU

Water cooled, temps were 50-60c under load.

I will asume you already tried plugging your DisplayPort to your GPU directly, turned off the PC and tried to turn it on back again.

Sometimes DisplayPort specifically can be a little hard to work with.

If you have also tried to test the hardware and everything seems to be working fine try to remove the CMOS battery in your motherboard, it should look like a silver circle like old watches used, please look it up in google so you know exactly what to look for. Normally removing it would take you about a minute with no tools needed, just take it out for a few minutes, put it in place back again and try to turn on the pc, hopefully by "clearing the CMOS" (removing the battery of the motherboard) your BIOS settings will all be default and the system will post.

Keep in mind, sometimes after doing this process your computer takes a few more minutes to boot since it has to do something called memory training (RAM).

Just to be sure, check again if your RAM sticks are all the way in.

Good luck!

I just tried plugging my monitor to a laptop via hdmi. The monitor shows the Asus logo, then "No Signal".I can't see if there's an hdmi setting, when I press the menu button nothing shows.

Update, it just started working. Loose cable? I don't know, seemed connected for me. Thanks!
